In Conversation with Graham Greenwood
My Story - autobiography of a newspaper icon, author and sportsman
Hosted by Alan Richardson

Graham Greenwood's autobiography takes the readers through various stages of his life including 57 years in newspapers where he went from the bottom to the top - starting at The Border Watch newspaper in May 1963 as a printer's devil, then a Linotype operator (typesetter) into journalism, sports editor, editor, manager, board director and chairman of the board.

It takes the reader on a newspaper journey from Mount Gambier, Adelaide to Perth. His story also highlights his private life, the torment of failed marriages, bringing up his son as a single parent and his successes on the sporting field in cricket, baseball and basketball. It also takes the reader behind the scenes in how he battled the stigma in growing up and being educated in the East End of town to become an editor.

His story tells of the unusual way he became an author and how this, along with his newspaper involvement in regional and rural newspapers and his teaching and training of more than 400 journalists around Australia resulted in him being honoured with the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 2017.
